Italian Style Meatballs

I have been making these meatballs for years now and still aren’t sick of them! They are extremely versatile and go well with most sauces and sides.

-1 lb of ground meat (I use half beef and half turkey. I’m not sure why but I’ve always found that mixing two different meats makes them so much better!)

-1/2 C Italian Bread Crumbs (sub gf bread crumbs and this will work just fine)

-1 Egg

-1/4 C Almond Milk

-1/2 C grated Parmesan Cheese

-1 Clove of Minced Garlic

-1/2 of a Medium Sized Onion

-2 T Olive Oil

-1/2 t Salt

-1/2 t pepper

-1/2 t Garlic Powder

-1/2 t Red Pepper Flakes (optional)

  1. Mince your onion and garlic. Begin to sauté them in 1 T of Olive Oil
  2. Combine both meats. Add Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder, and Red pepper flakes until the meat is well seasoned and it is completely mixed in.
  3. Once the onion and garlic are soft and yellow, add them to the meat mixture. Add egg, milk, parmesan, and bread crumbs to the meat and mix thoroughly with hands.
  4. Start heating your other T of olive oil on the stove and pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees.
  5. Make 1 inch size balls with the meat mixture and drop them on the hot pan. Flip meatballs around so each side can get browned. Don’t cook all the way through.
  6. Once all of your meatballs are browned, place them on a greased baking sheet and bake for 10 mins or until the middle is no longer pink.
  7. Add your favorite sauce or cheese and you’re all set!
